2/10/25 sage sets the record straight regarding film event

HOWELL says:

“We would ask that local businesses that decide to host events like this in the future work with local law enforcement and not allow activist groups to jeopardize the safety of people within their businesses."

FACT

SAGE spoke with local law enforcement prior to the event regarding concerns of unification among multiple hate groups showing up to the theater event. At that time it was stated that they have known about Eric Cooperʼs N@zi involvement since last year's first demonstrations. The police were aware of our concerns regarding a n@zi protest, they identified Eric Cooper from a photo and said theyʼd be around on Thursday.

Eric Cooper walked into the theater maskłess trying to get into the event. The police didn't stop him despite being told they were aware and knew who he was. Because of SAGEʼs citizen watch flyers, which has Cooperʼs face included, community members were able to quickly identify him at the door and the safety team was able to take swift action to keep attendees safe.

SAGE did communicate with local law enforcement, but that did not prevent a N@zi from entering the theater. Luckily we were prepared.

FACT: Some film attendees *did try the kindness route with the white supremacists, but this is how it went DEAD LINK to seth holland. They called a Black man behind her the n word. That was individual #3 being racially harassed. That was caught on film, there may have been more.

FACT: business owners called the police in real time stating their patrons were being harrassed - cops still did nothing.

It’s important to pay attention to the narrative that local law enforcement and officials *continue to put out because it is dangerous.

In November, Sheriff Murphy described the n@zis protest outside the Anne Frank play as “peaceful” he stated that the protesters identified as Fowlerville residents and he knows that is where Eric Cooper lives.

Patrons reported that they were scared to go to their vehicles afterwards some requested escorts. Per the American Legion the n@zis were screaming disgusting anti-Semitic slurs. Patrons were reported saying “ we were hiding with the nazis outside”

Local officials did not even put out a statement condemning the Anne Frank n@zi protesters that made worldwide news.

Local officials and law enforcement *continuously* allow minority residents to be ethnically intimidated and racially harassed by these terrorists. With the lack of any type of action as the hate and bias incidents keep increasing folks can only take so much harassment before being forced to deal with it themselves. The blame does not fall on the victims, Howell! Jeff Amayo is interviewed by WLNS regarding why he confronted the white supremacists that protested the film event.

After the neo-Nazis left their protest of the Anne Frank play in November they went to downtown Fowlerville and yelled at a Hispanic resident to go back to his country because this is "Puresville" and that they "are there to make sure it stays pure." while waving flags with sw@stikas. This is ethnic intimidation. They were allowed to do it again to a Latina woman this past Thursday where again the neo-Nazis yelled at her to go back to her country, tried to intimidate, called her an ethnic slur, and told her husband that he is a "race traitor" The heated interaction went on for at least 4 minutes while the police looked on.

HOWELL says:

White Lives Matter (WLM) is a "small group of morally misguided individuals" that "are very careful and 'pride' themselves on operating within the law and their constitutional rights."

Local law enforcement clearly chose to protect the rights of those n@zis over the rights of marginalized community members.

The aim of White Lives Matter, per their manual states, is to achieve “an absolute White majority population”

The group’s rhetoric around this call for ethnic cleansing. The manual says the purge of nonwhites should be achieved “by any means necessary.” It declares “Nothing scares the anti-White rats more than our bold commitment to securing our children’s future even if we have to give our lives for it.”

The manual emphasizes, darkly, that “criminal activity and organized para-military militia activity are two distinctly different entities,” alleging that the latter is “constitutionally protected under the 2nd amendment.”

Additionally, WLM has a violent arm called “Active Club” which has been coming to LivCo the past few years recruiting and doing “joint days of action” with WLM. They are literally a racist fight club preparing for street battle as they all believe that a racial holy war (RAHOWA) is coming. Article here.

Don't let them derail the conversation any longer by hyper focusing on the safety team, it's been addressed in SAGE's response to the City (see next entry) so just ignore it. Keep the focus where it needs to stay - they are not acknowledging the contents of the 'Face of Hate' film. They're not addressing the fact that we have an active white supremacy movement in our community and that the needs of their marginalized community members, the most vulnerable, are being ignored. We need their support and action in helping us to fight this serious problem.
